EYHA Mavericks House Hockey
Our house hockey program is designed for those players that are beginning or not yet ready for travel hockey. The players will work on skills along with developing a greater understanding of the game of hockey. Congrats to the 10U Mavs team pictured above, for winning the CHH 10U Major Championship!
AGES
What aged players are appropriate for this program?
Currently our house registrations are for 12U (birth years 2011-2012) and 14U (birth years 2009-2010) players only.
Important Dates
June 30 (at 6:00 pm) Early registration begins for current EYHA families.
July 1 (at 6:00 pm) Registration opens to the public
September 8 - Squirt and Peewee Select Tryouts
September 23 - House Evaluations (Peewees A-L will be at 11 AM. Peewees M-Z will be at 12:10. Bantams will be at 1:20).
Week of Oct 2 - House practices will likely begin this week
October 28 - CHH games begin
COLUMBUS HOUSE HOCKEY
What is CHH?
Our 12U and 14U house teams will participate in Columbus House Hockey. EYHA teams will play teams from other Central Ohio organizations, such as CAHA, CCYHA, Newark, and CIHC.
When
What time of the year does this program run?
The season will begin in September/October and will end with an end-of-season tournament, which typically takes place the first or second weekend in March.
Where
Where are practices and games typically held?
Most house practices will be held at the Easton Chiller facility, however in the past we have had to utilize Ice Works for house practices as well. Games will be at the various Chillers around Columbus.
Practices and Games
When are practices and games?
Teams will have two practices per week. One of those practices will be a skills session and the other a team practice. Teams will have one game per week that will be played on either a Saturday or Sunday. CHH will not play games on Thanksgiving weekend, over Christmas break, MLK weekend, and President's Day weekend.
Cost
How much does it cost to participate in EYHA house hockey?
As the cost of ice and refs continues to rise, EYHA will be raising their rates $50 this season. Peewee fees will be $815, and Bantams will pay $880, spread out over three months. However, those families wishing to pay the entire cost up front at the time of registration will save $50. (Those families would pay $765 or $830, for peewees and bantams, respectively). You will have the choice when you're checking out of which option you prefer.
Also please note that Crossbar charges a 2% fee to both the family and the organization when paying with a credit card. Families can forego the charge if paying by bank account.
Uniform
Is the uniform provided or purchased separately?
The uniform cost is included in the house hockey fee. The uniform includes a jersey with your child's surname and number on the back, as well as a pair of socks. When registering, you will be prompted to enter your child's top three choices of jersey numbers. Please note while we strive to give every child one of their requested numbers, not all jersey number requests can be granted.
2023-2024
Welcome to the 2023-2024 season of house hockey! Don't forget your new USA Hockey number before registering for the new season.
Peewee (2011-2012s) and Bantam (2009-2010s) house registration is now waitlisted, except for goalies.
If your child was born in 2013 or earlier, your child will be a part of the Blue Jackets Hockey League, as the BJHL has expanded to include squirts/10U for the upcoming season.
