Meet the Candidate: Steven Crawmer

Hello EYHA Mavericks Families,

My name is Steven Crawmer, and I wanted to introduce myself and share why I am running for the Travel Coordinator position for EYHA.

Hockey has been a major part of my life for many years. I grew up playing competitive hockey and understand firsthand the commitment, development, and experiences that travel hockey provides for players and families. The lessons I learned through the game — teamwork, accountability, leadership, and dedication — are values I continue to carry with me today.

Over the years, I have also had the opportunity to give back to the game through coaching at multiple levels, from Mites all the way through High School hockey. I also currently serve as the 2017 AA Head Coach, an experience that will further strengthened my leadership, organizational skills, and understanding of competitive youth hockey. In addition to my youth coaching background, I have prior experience in collegiate inline hockey, which gave me valuable insight into higher-level competition, player development, and team culture. Working with players at every stage of development has given me a strong understanding of what young athletes need to grow both on and off the ice. It has also allowed me to build relationships with families throughout the hockey community and better understand the importance of communication, organization, and creating a positive experience for everyone involved.

In addition to my coaching background, I have prior involvement with EYHA as a player and care deeply about the continued growth and success of the Mavericks program. I believe strongly in creating an environment that focuses on player development, teamwork, accountability, and ensuring families feel informed and supported throughout the season.

I am interested in the Travel Coordinator role because I want to help continue building a strong culture within EYHA and contribute to the future success of our players and teams. My goal would be to support coaches, players, and families while helping ensure our travel program continues moving in a positive direction.
